Leonard is one of the most talented undiscovered artists today. His voice is cool, smooth, and has that sort of "easy listening" vibe to it. Having started singing at the age of 13, he's been able to harness the potentiality of his voice throughout the years. Through proper training, with the help of joining his churchs' choir, as well as self-taught vocal training, he has developed a specific style of singing that is unique to his voice. It is actually a funny story as to how and why he started singing. You see, singing wasn't always his thing, but because of a hard breakup with a girl who he felt deeply about, he thought to himself that MAYBE if he could sing to her how he really felt, that it would rekindle the lost flames of what used to be. Unfortunately, it didn't exactly work out the way he planned. But amidst the failed attempt to win her back, he discovered that he loved to sing. And thus, emerged an amazingly talented singer. Let's take a quick break and listen to a cover of his. This one is his cover of Sweet Dream by Beyonce. That's right, BEYONCE. Don't count him out just yet, you'll be surprised at how well he actually did. (:
What did I tell you! This guys voice is golden. Sultry at its finest. To be honest, its really hard to find you own voice when there's a constant pressure to meet the standards of what is in demand in the music business. But for me, I feel that Leonard has done just that. So a job well done Leonard. Another fun fact about this guy, is that he had auditioned for American Idol. He was able to make it passed the first round, but did not go through after. This is definitely a good thing (not the getting cut part, but the going through part) because at least his talent was acknowledged in the first round. Some don't even get that far, if that at all.
Anyways, lets get to know Leonard a little more. He describes himself as an easy-going type of guy. He is constantly trying to balance school, music, family, AND friends without losing his mind. His vice in life..... video games. His favorite colors are dark blue and maroon. There is no discrimination with Leonard when it comes to food and music. He is willing and open to all new experiences. And finally, his one fear is sharks. His thing with them is that "if you're in the water with a shark, you're pretty much screwed". I don't think anyone could disagree with that. Lol! Alright, so back to his music, let's listen to him one more time in his rendition of Maroon 5's - Sunday Morning. Enjoy!! ^_^
Definitely one of my favorites. It was smooth and controlled, and his voice had a hint of raspiness to it. Which only added more to the coolness of his voice. Leonard has a simple dream in life. He just wants to be a musician with a stable income, because to him it's not about the fame or the fortune (although those are always plus' in anyones book) but being able to live life comfortably with his music. To Leonard, it's really just about the music. When something truly becomes a passion, nothing else could really matter. And in the hopes of reaching that dream, he keeps in mind that all his hard work and efforts are never short lived. For him, it is all for the people. Providing genuine entertainment to those who appreciate genuine talent. And when talent comes from the heart, it will always be received in the brightest of ways. (:
