Christy is the type of person who, with every day that she walks out of her house, does not falter in presenting herself to the world with style. She is one of the most stylish individuals I have ever come across. Regardless of whether or not she dresses up, or dresses down, you can guarantee that she will stand out amongst the crowd. What's great about her style is that it's never anything you'd expect, or have ever seen. I say this because she is so good at putting clothes together; it'll always have that unique "Christy" flare to it. And not only that, but she is daring enough to take the clothes that she buys and literally alter them. And I'm not just talking about "hemming" or what not, I'm talking about the general design is changed. And I can tell you now, they all turn out amazing. Because when you think about it, if you truly are a fashionista, when are you ever really satisfied? Am I right?
Okay, so what got Christy into clothe making was her mom. Her mom would make her dresses for her when she was younger. So pretty much, she got it from her mama. Lol! Also, every time she would see clothes that she liked, she would realize that it is easy enough to actually make them herself. She's been coming up with her own designs (and actually making them) for about 2 years now. Let me show you a few of the stuff she has made already, or have already altered/added too. I'm sure you'll like it. (; Enjoy!

Christy is one of the few who have great imagination, and very keen sense in fashion. Because, for me at least, to be able to look at an article of clothing and to say to yourself, "I can make this even better", and to actually DO IT, is crazy good. You see, the actual "doing" part of designing is where a lot of people fall short. But with Christy, she is fearless and experienced. So she CAN do it.
As of now, she has not come to terms with herself about actually designing for the market. Although a lot of her friends have already urged her to sell some of her stuff, she feels like she's not at that level yet. Just considering the fact that she, herself, is not always satisfied with her own designs. But that's honestly to say the least, because practice makes perfect, right? But don't count her out just yet. She is currently a college student at Sierra College, taking classes that'll help her be more ready for main stream fashion, such as: graphic designing, publication, designing, typography, and (hopefully soon) web designing. You see, she wants to start her own online clothing business, but can't right now because she's still in school and does not have the funds to actually get started. But give it a few years, and I'm positive it'll be something to look out for. (:
One thing I should definitely mention about Christy, is that she is one of THE BEST frugal shoppers EVER. And I mean she can literally find the best outfits in thrift stores and have them looking like she just bought them from Neiman Marcus. This is not an overstatement, because it takes time to actually find things that will work really well together. Good thing fashion seems to be an inborn prowess of hers. Let me show what I mean. Here are some of her fashionable finds, and how she is able to incorporate some of the items in her general fashion style. ^_^

As you can see, her style has no direct limitation. She's modern, old school, classy, and everything else in between. Christy is truly a master at her craft.
Alright ladies and gentlemen, as we round off this weeks "Featured Artist", as usual, I just have a few more words of inspiration. I had asked Christy who or what inspires her to do what she does. She said that clothes inspire her to make her own clothes. Also, she, herself, inspires and encourages herself to keep on doing what she does. Meaning to say, that when she looks at a certain design, or intricate pattern, she always reminds herself that, "Hey, I could make something like this". Which is good, because who better to remind you of what you are capable of doing than yourself, right? A british politician named, Winston Churchill, once said that "We are the masters of our fate". So don't ever forget that.
Oh! And before I forget, if you want to see more of Christy (style, fashion tips, etc.), or have any questions for her regarding YOUR fashion, you should really check out her style blog at Suited For Sunday. <-- That is the link, now click away! Lol. ^_^ Anyways, hope you guys enjoyed this weeks "Featured Artist". And once again, thank you SO much for your continued support on my blog. You guys truly are amazing. (;
Yours Truly,
AJ T. (:
