Not.Your.Average.Joe. - Part Cruz

Name: Jeffrey C. Cruz
Age: 22
Birthday: September 14, 1988
Location: Cavite/Makati, Philippines
Nationality: Filipino
Talent: Dancing

Part is one of those "it just comes natural" kind of dancers. He's not quite sure when it happened, but definitely not letting it go anytime soon. He got his formal training in dancing when he was in college. He became a part of San Beda College's official dance organization - Bedan Dance Theatre. Where, in later years, became the President of the organization in 2008 - 2009. He was also one of their official choreographers. Actually, even until now, he still choreographs a lot of their work.

Part's professional dance career really took off in 2006 when he became a part of a very well known dance crew in the Philippines called, G-Force. However, needing to make time for school, he had to let go of his dancing just for a brief moment in order to focus mainly in his academics in 2008. Although, having been associated with the G-Force dance company, it allowed Part to gain very much needed experience, and exposure, wherein later years, he will use to jump start the careers of other young dancers whom he has joined together in a dance company of his own called, Next.Ep. But before we get into all that, here is a video of Part showing off his moves on youtube. He is dancing to Chris Brown's You.

Okay, before I talk more about his dance company, Next.Ep, lets acquaint ourselves more with Part. Aside from being an amazing dancer, he is an accomplished college graduate. He finished Accountancy at San Beda College in April of 2010. He was also able to pass the CPA Board Exams. I know, you're probably saying to yourself, "He did all that while dancing?!" Well, thats why I mentioned earlier that he had to take a break from dancing back in 2008 in order to focus on his studies. So... no. He prioritized his time in order to maximize benefits from both dancing AND graduating college. Hence, the latter part of 2009 and early 2010, Part was very silent in the dance world - and now you know why. ^_^ But fortunately, after graduating and being able to pass his Board Exam, he was ready to put his dancing shoes back on and make some noise, letting everyone know that he was back in the game. Alright, so quick break once again with a video of Parts choreo to Janet Jackson's Slolove. Enjoy!

Alright guys, now as promised, its time to find out MORE about Part's dance company Next.Ep. Ok, so Next.Ep was created back in 2010 by none other than Mr. Part Cruz, himself. The name of the company itself has a double hidden meaning. First, it stands for the shortened version of "Next Episode". And secondly, its hidden meaning is "Next Step". Both terms are in relation to choreography, as well as to films and stories. The main aim for the company is to concentrate mostly on choreography geared towards films, music videos, and tv commercials that require a dance number. Next.Ep does not play around when it comes to business. They do all they can to get their name out there, in order to make lots of noise in the Philippine dance community... and hopefully, even dance communities all over the world. Let me show you guys what Next.Ep is all about. Here is a vid, or "Episode", as they like to call it, of them dancing to For The Night by Musiq Soulchild. This is Episode #1. (Part Cruz is the main character.)

Okay guys, I really hope you all enjoyed this weeks "Featured Artist". I do apologize for this being a day late. I was just super busy yesterday. But here it is! Lol. And please please PLEASE check out their youtube page here if you want to see more of their "Episodes". They have 5 total, and working on a 6th one. And as usual, I do have a few closing remarks. (: Part Cruz is a truly blessed person. Having divine fear in God, and always looking for inspiration from Jesus, there's nothing that he cannot accomplish. As the saying goes, "Let go, and let God." To me, that statements says it all. When you feel overwhelmed and pressured to meet lifes "standards", just let go of all that inhibition and trust that God IS there to help you. Because when that becomes clear in your head, there's no stopping you from reaching your dreams.

Yours Truly,
AJ T. (:
